"Most of this industry is still selling rankings while buyers have quietly stopped looking at them. I would rather show a client the actual answer an engine gave about their market, with the date on it, than a dashboard number nobody can check. If the engine did not name you, that is the finding. Everything else is decoration."

Background: from self-taught SEO to AI citation visibility
Abdul Subkhan started teaching himself in 2020, during Covid, with a laptop and an urge to learn: coding, web development, cybersecurity, marketing, graphic design, video editing, sales and affiliate marketing. By the end of 2023 he knew search was what he wanted to do, and left university to do it full time.
That range is why he can fix a client's problem when it turns out not to be only an SEO problem, like the CDN rule he traced that was refusing GPTBot on this very site.
He went on to spend years leading SEO at a Top Rated Plus agency, running technical and content programmes for ecommerce and multi-site clients. The work was ranking pages: audits, schema, internal linking and the unglamorous fixes that move a whole domain. That work is the foundation the AI citation side of CiteVantage is built on, because an engine cannot quote a page it cannot crawl or parse.
Then the questions started landing somewhere else. Buyers began asking ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity "what is the best…?" before they ever opened a search results page, and brands that ranked perfectly well were simply absent from the answer. That gap is why CiteVantage exists, and it is what he now works on full-time.

Original research by Abdul Subkhan
In September 2026 he put 500 Houston real estate questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity and two versions of Gemini. Across 2,000 answers the engines named roughly 3,000 agents, teams and brokerages, which leaves about 94% of the Houston Association of Realtors' 50,000 members never named at all.
Before that he ran a 150-query real estate study across five engines, and earlier still he audited 181 US ecommerce brands, 158 of which were absent from all four engines tested. Each study is published in full, with method and limitations, on this site.
